SCA AGM – Saturday 15th June 2019 – Schedule announced

We are really looking forward to this AGM and we are hoping as many people as possible will be able to join us there.

Venue: St Andrew’s Centre, Short Street (off The Cut), London SE1 8LJ

Starting from 12 noon with the formal business followed by a break for lunch. Please bring your own lunch but tea will be provided.

The afternoon will run as follows:-

1.45 – Interview with Jill Parry  talking about fundraising for the SCA via the sale of mint stamps

2.00 – Keynote speaker – Dame Rosalind Marsden DCMG.  Recent Political change in Sudan – ramifications

2.45 – John Poole reporting on his recent visit to the Province of Sudan

3.00 – Planned Skype link with Archbishop Justin Badi and Pauline Walker in Juba

3.15 – Rev’d Andy Wheeler  speaking about the Shokai Bible Institute in Khartoum

3.30 – Closing Prayer followed by tea

Biography – Dame Rosalind Marsden

Dame Rosalind was the EU Special Representative for Sudan from September 2010 until October 2013.

Before joining the EU, she had a long career in the British diplomatic service, including postings as Consul-General in Basra, British Ambassador to Sudan and British Ambassador to Afghanistan.

She has also served as Head of the United Nations Department and Director (Asia-Pacific) in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in London.

Earlier in her career she served twice in the British Embassy in Tokyo and spent two years on secondment to the private sector, working in the corporate finance department of an investment bank.

She received her BA in Modern History from Somerville College, Oxford and her D.Phil from St Antony’s College, Oxford. Dame Rosalind is a Patron of the charity Kids for Kids, helping children in Darfur, Sudan. She is currently an Associate Fellow in the Africa Programme at Chatham House.
